Jewellery Craftsmanship

Jewellery craftsmanship at Passion Jewellers in Dubai begins with the design you want to wear. Our approach combines hand skills with sketches and CAD to explore shape, proportion and detail before a piece is made. Bring your ideas, a favourite reference or an existing piece to the conversation. We can discuss which details matter to you and what needs to be assessed for the individual design.

Precious in Every Way

Bespoke Materials

The materials belong to the individual design brief. Discuss the metal, the intended colour and the written description of each stone before proceeding. Ask whether a stone is natural or laboratory-grown and which supporting information is available for it. A photograph cannot establish origin, treatment or a grading result. Keep the agreed material specification with your quotation and ask for clarification when a detail is missing. Our diamond buying guide explains the 4Cs and the difference between centre and combined diamond weight.

Where Ideas Take Form

Design Studio

Our design studio brings hand sketching and CAD into a collaborative conversation. A sketch can help communicate an outline; a CAD view can help you discuss proportions and the relationship between the setting and the band. Explain how the piece will be worn and whether it needs to sit beside existing jewellery. Review the dimensions, metal and stone choices together. Ask the team which design stages apply to your commission and how proposed changes will be agreed. Explore the bespoke jewellery process before preparing your brief.

Workshop Process

Jewellery craftsmanship continues through shaping, setting and finishing the agreed design. The work required depends on the piece and its construction. Before a commission begins, confirm the specification, quotation and proposed schedule with our Dubai team. Discuss comfort, setting height and how any personal detail will be incorporated. At the fitting or collection conversation, ask about the checks and care appropriate to your piece. Our jewellery services include repair, resizing, engraving, cleaning and polishing enquiries. The appropriate next step is an assessment of the individual item, rather than a blanket promise about every design.

Discuss Your Jewellery Craftsmanship Brief

A useful brief describes the intended piece, the occasion, the styles you enjoy and any requirements for everyday wear. Bring photographs as references and identify the features you want to keep or change. For an existing piece, share what you know about its materials, previous work and condition. Ask which elements can be retained, whether any limitations affect the design and how the final proposal will be recorded. Keep a copy of the agreed details before authorising work.

For independent background, read GIA’s diamond quality factors. These explain diamond characteristics without certifying an individual product. To discuss a design at Boutique 36, Building 1, Gold and Diamond Park, contact Passion Jewellers. We can talk through your preferences and the information needed for the next step.

From workshop idea to an agreed specification

Explain your jewellery craftsmanship brief

Jewellery craftsmanship begins with decisions that should be clear to the customer as well as the maker. When discussing a design, identify which features are essential: the outline, setting, metal, proportions or a detail carried from an existing piece. Ask how those choices will be represented in the proposal and which points need approval before work proceeds. Keep reference images alongside written notes explaining what each image is intended to show.

Assess an existing piece

If existing jewellery is involved, an assessment should guide the conversation about what can be retained. Do not assume that every component can be reused simply because it appears suitable in a photograph. Ask the team to explain the proposal for your particular item, including materials, stone details and the scope of any additional work.

Approve the individual specification

Before confirming the commission, request the agreed specification, quotation and proposed schedule. Ask how changes will be reviewed if the brief develops. When collecting the finished piece, compare it with the approved details and discuss care, fit and any relevant follow-up. These practical steps help connect the craftsmanship story with the individual piece you are choosing.
